

She was born in Hackberry on May 28, 1932 to Paul and Elia Chaisson, and was a longtime resident of Sulphur. She was a member of Our Lady of Lasalette Catholic Church, a previous member of the Catholic Daughters, the Legion Mary, the Ladies Altar Society, and was a Cursillesta. Lillian enjoyed working in her yard, crocheting, quilting, sewing, and playing Bonco and Pokeno, but her fondest enjoyment was a house full of company spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her six children, Wayne "Porky" Gautreaux and wife, Cathy, Bernell Gautreaux and wife, Janet, all of Sulphur, Deborah Gayle Johnson and husband, Rod of Farmington, Minnesota, Carol Koonce and husband, Murrel, Pamela Landry and husband, Elwood, and Darlene Bonin and husband, Mike, all of Sulphur; her best friend and companion, Alfred Duhon; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved poodle, Abby. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse P. Gautreaux; her parents, Paul and Elia Chaisson; four brothers; and three sisters.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, in Our Lady of Lasalette Catholic Church. The Rev. Jim Winiarski will officiate. Pallbearers will be Justin, Jake, Jodylane, and Austin Gautreaux, David Babaz, Chase Koonce, and G.T. Bonin. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation is in the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday with a rosary service at 6 p.m., followed by a Cursillo rosary. Visitiation will resume Wednesday in the funeral home from 8:30 a.m.
