Marie Robicheaux Calhoun

She was a native of Welsh and had been a resident of DeRidder since 1969. Marie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she had served as a Eucharistic Minister and was also involved with the Catholic Daughters. She was an Auxiliary member of the Lion's Club and had volunteered as a Pink Lady with the Beauregard Memorial Hospital. Marie enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cooking, word search puzzles, playing cards, reading her Bible, and playing Rummy and Pokeno with her grandchildren. She was known for her "Angel Eggs" which were always the hit of any party or event.

Survivors include her children, Lois Marie Calhoun Magby of Rosepine, William Marcus Hoover of Toledo Bend, and Frances Lynn Calhoun Harper, Max Anthony "TC" Calhoun, and Timothy James Calhoun, all of DeRidder; ten grandchildren, April Magby, Sarah Magby, Theresa Hoover, Michelle Embree, Daniel Davis, Lance Harper, Savanna Harper, Kristopher Calhoun, Chelsea Brehmer, and Haley Davis; eleven great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces and great-great nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Max M. Calhoun,Jr.her parents, John and Lucy Robicheaux; her son, Darrell Glenn Calhoun; and her brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Elvie Robicheaux.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 12, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Monsignor Danny Torres will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Welsh. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Friday with a rosary service at 6 p.m. and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the funeral home.
