Scotty Jacobsen, (84) was Born 10/16/1937. He began his life in heaven on 02/26/2022. He was raised in Sulphur, Louisiana, a graduate of Sulphur High School Class of 1956 and Louisiana State University. He lived in Longville, Louisiana for 50 years.
Scotty worked in industry for many years. He was a licensed Civil Engineer and Land Surveyor. Scotty blessed so many in this world. He loved mentoring young people in both industry, and on horseback. He was a true horseman.
He was married to the love of his life, Sue Watler Jacobsen, for 59 years. She was his true hero and always by his side. His children Jim (Heather) Jacobsen and Beth (Ken) Broussard had the greatest blessing to have him as their Dad. His greatest joys in life were his grandchildren. Austin (Shelby), Jake, Ben, & Jill Broussard and Brady and Cale Jacobsen. He was blessed with his first great grandson, Welles, 3 days before he was called to his Heavenly Home. Scotty was blessed with so many friends who were like family to him. He was adored by his family. His passing will create a huge hole in all of our lives but the stories and memories that we all made with him will be celebrated for generations.
He is also survived by his sister Betsy Ann Magee and will be reunited with his parents who preceded him in death, Betsy and Olaf Jacobsen and his beloved in-laws Cedric and Bea Watler. His departure from this earth was filled with love as he was held in the arms of his wife and children when God lifted him up. As our Cowboy rides away, we will celebrate his life and rejoice with him again one day. We will always love this Cowboy who owned our hearts.
A very special thanks to Brighton Bridge Hospice for helping us navigate this incredible challenge of letting him go to his true Home. We couldn’t have survived it without them, the prayers of all of our friends and family, and the strength of our Lord.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Chapel followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Sean Chisholm officiating. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines in Carlyss.
