

Patti was born in Lafayette and spent her childhood years in Boyce, Louisiana where she met her lifelong friend, Melinda Klein. The family moved to Reeves in 1980 and she graduated from Reeves High School in 1984. Patti attended McNeese State University and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 1988. She taught at Parks Elementary in St. Martin Parish for 7 years. After marriage she moved to Carlyss and taught at Our Lady’s Catholic School. She began her most rewarding career when her first child was born. From that moment own, she felt her greatest achievements were her children and being able to stay at home with them. Patti was an active member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, serving as a CCD teacher and a lecturer. Due to the remarkable care she received at MD Anderson, she was a proud breast cancer survivor for 10 years. Patti showed her family, friends, and especially her children unwavering faith and strength as she fought her latest one year battle with cancer.
Survivors include her husband of 15 years, Troy Thibodeaux; two daughters, Bethany and Kourtni Thibodeaux; son, Kolin Thibodeaux; mother, Brenda Schultz of Reeves; three brothers, Doug Schultz and wife Robin; Kurt Schultz and Bo Schultz all of Reeves. She is preceded in death by her father, Jay Schultz.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015 in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. The Rev. Edward Richard, M.S. will officiate. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South of Carlyss. Visitation will be held at Hixson- Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home Friday, 2 – 8 p.m. with a recitation of the Rosary at 6 p.m. and will resume Saturday at 9 a.m. -10:30 a.m. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
