

She was born in Gary, Indiana and moved to Sulphur when she was just a little girl. She attended Sulphur High and McNeese State University where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Education. She taught English at S.P. Arnett in Westlake. Rita married Charles Alderson in 1964, where they resided in Westlake. She spent the last 12 years in Sulphur. She was a member of Maplewood First Baptist Church for many years. Rita enjoyed tending to her flower garden and loved spending time with her cats. Most of all, her family was her world, especially her grandchildren.
Rita is survived by her children, Jennifer Alderson and Josh Alderson; her brother, Rex Brasher and wife, Beverly, all of Sulphur, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Logan Roessler, Donovan Alderson, and Devin Alderson; great-grandchildren, Alita Alderson and Aubreigh Alderson; nephews, Robert and Rick Brasher; and her niece, Bridgett Bruchhaus.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Eugene Alderson; her parents, Ethel Edmond "E.E." and Mary Mildred Brasher; and a grandson, Tyler Alderson.
A private Graveside Service will be held at Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery in Westlake, Louisiana.
