She was a native of Bassfield, Mississippi and upon marrying, she and her husband, Carlos made their home in the Sulphur community around 1944. They were both charter members of Olivet Baptist Church. Roberta enjoyed vegetable gardening, crocheting, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include three sons, Carlos Babaz, Jr. and wife, Sharon of Sulphur, Charles Babaz and wife, Marjorie of Cresco, Pennsylvania, and Kermit Babaz and wife, Denise of Sulphur; one brother, Lavon White of Arkansas; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carlos J. Babaz, Sr; one sister; and six brothers.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 26, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Don Walker will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday in the funeral home.
