He was born to his late parents, Blewitt and Lucile Andersen on March 10, 1938 in Orange, Texas. Troy worked at Calcasieu Marine National Bank as a banker for many years. In later years, he worked as a dealer with various casinos. One of his biggest enjoyments and hobbies was playing golf. Troy also enjoyed playing pool at the Sulphur Senior Center, and loved any type of puzzle or game that was a challenge.
He is survived by his two daughters, Christine Duplechin (Ellis) and Amy Andersen, both of Sulphur, Louisiana; one brother, Dickie Andersen of Wake Forest, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Duplechin, Cory Duplechin, Lindsey Wishart (Dillion), Manning Starnes, and Mason Henry; two great granddaughters, Taylyn Duplechin and Gracelynn Wishart; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Troy is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Faye Andersen; two brothers, Wendell and Johnny Andersen; his parents; along with a granddaughter, Holly Duplechin.
A Celebration of Troy's life will be held at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 1:00 pm. The Rev. Hunter LaRocca will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation is from 11:00 am until the time of service Friday in the funeral home.
