She was born in Orange, Texas and had been a resident of Sulphur for the last 70 years. She was a former member of First Baptist Church of Orange, Texas and then became a member of Maplewood First Baptist Church. Rosa found great joy in spending time with her family and took pride in helping care for the animals at Misha’s Pets. Her kindness, faith, and love for both people and animals will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Survivors include her son, Robert "Bob" Babcock and wife, Deborah of Sulphur; her siblings, Floyd Conway and wife, Deborah of Seguin, Texas, and Georgia Lusich of Orange, Texas; her grandchildren, Christina Ardoin and husband, Danny, and Amy Landry; and great-grandchildren, Jude Landry and Bria Landry. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Inverness Babcock; her parents, Floyd and Olivia Conway; her son, David Russell Babcock; and her sister, Joann Alburn.
Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 1, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Pastor Lonnie Gothrup will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the funeral home.
