

SULPHUR -Ruby Marie Romero, 82, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013 in a local nursing home.
She was a lifelong resident of Johnson Bayou and was a retired cafeteria worker for Cameron Parish School Board. Mrs. Romero was a very active member of Johnson Bayou Pentecostal Church where she served as Song Director, Secretary and the chairperson of the fundraising committee.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Romero and his wife Teri of Johnson Bayou and Ronald Romero and his wife Lisa of Hackberry; three daughters Louanna McNiel and her husband Jake of Moss Bluff, Judy Harrington and her husband Jimmie of Johnson Bayou, and Diane Price and the late Steve Price of Johnson Bayou; brother, Sullie Menard, Jr. and his wife Yvonne of Carlyss; sister, Velma Merritt and husband Robert of Carlyss; eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Murphy Romero; and her son-in-law Steve Price.
Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2013 in Hixson Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery of Sulphur.
