Sally lived in the Sulphur area for 65 years, moving here from Chicago. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her grandkids.
Survivors include her loving husband of 28 years, Eddie Sonnier of Carlyss; daughter, Rhonda Fontenot Schwartz, of Sulphur; sons, David Wayne Fontenot, of Sulphur, Rebel James Sonnier, of Sulphur, and Eric Wayne Sonnier and his wife Vanessa, of Lake Charles; brother, Winslow Wayne Smith; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, and her loving dachshund, Oscar James Sonnier.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Lillian Smith.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 4, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial. The Rev. Tom Bruce will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Friday and from 8-10 a.m. Saturday, all in the funeral home.
