He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Laughlin Smith; and his daughter, Louise M. Smith. He is survived by his sons, Sidney F. Smith Jr., K.W. Smith, and John R. Smith.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Jody Barrilleaux will officiate as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the funeral home.
