Terry Neil Chapman

Terry Neil Chapman, 83, of Sulphur passed away on November 09, 2020 in a local hospital. Terry was born in Mamou, LA to Moise and Ola Aucoin Chapman. He married Dora Soileau on April 23, 1960. They resided in Bunkie, Lake Charles, and moved to Sulphur in 1972.

He proudly served in the United States Army from 1956-1959. Terry began working at Citgo Refinery and PCD in 1967 and retired in 1999. He loved to travel, enjoyed playing poker, exercising at Dynamic Dimensions, and spending time at the public library.

Terry is preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 49 years, Dora Soileau Chapman. Those left to cherish his memory are his brother, Michael Louis Chapman of Lake Charles; his children, Rebecca Chapman Lovejoy and husband, John, of Sulphur, Michael David Chapman and wife, Karen, of Sulphur, Susan Chapman Nunez and husband, Bubba, of Sulphur; grandchildren, David Lovejoy and wife, Jessica, of Baton Rouge, Matthew Lovejoy and wife, Ashley, of Sulphur, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Lovejoy of Sulphur, Harleigh Nunez of Sulphur, Carmen Chapman of Sulphur, and Andrew Chapman of Sulphur; great-grandchildren, Tanner, Brody, Tenley, Bailey, Wyatt, and Walker; and his companion of 10 years, Bobbie J. Dupuis.

Cremation was entrusted to Hixson Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mimosa Pines South Cemetery at a later date determined by the family. Honoring Terry's wishes, there will be no public services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Terry's name to your local library.
