Travis Dale Farley, 77, of Vinton, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home in Jennings, Louisiana. He was born to his late parents, William and Viola Farley on July 1, 1946 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Dale proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a part of the American Legion Local 106, and a Honorary Member of Local 551 US Steel Workers. He was a part of the Gideons International and loved to distribute God's Word. Dale enjoyed working livestock as a kid and with his children. He was a long time member and deacon of Houston River Baptist Church. Dale was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his sisters, Shirley Eakin of Pearland, Texas, and Kathy Ann Reid of DeRidder, Louisiana; along with three grandsons, Marcus Logan Hohn, Dean Anthony Hohn, and Morgan Andrew Hohn all of Nebraska.
Dale is preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Peggy Farley; son, James Travis Farley; and daughter, Carla Jean Hohn; along with two brothers and two sisters.
A Celebration of Travis's life will be held at Houston River Baptist Church in Sulphur, Louisiana on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Lonnie Gothrup officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Friday, beginning at 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss, Louisiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Gideons International (www.gideons.org) to provide Bibles in memory of Dale Farley.
