Vickie and I go way back.  I met her when I went to work at Berry Bros in the 70's.  I lost contact with her after we left previous job.  She was always so welcoming to me and I enjoyed many times with her & Jerry

Some of my fondest childhood memories were the ones where, we would stop by with Mimi and PaPete after staying at the camp. You both gave off such  warm and loving radiants that I still remember in my 30s . A place that I can look back on as an adult and remember the love and safety I felt there. Uncle Jerry, you reminded me of that place when  you hugged me as if 15 years hadn’t went by and I again felt the love and warmth.  I pray for Aunt Vicki that our  lord Jesus Christ opens his arms and embraces her with all of the love that she’s shown back home. Uncle Jerry, I pray you find solaces in knowing you will one day walk hand in hand.  I love y’all so very much.

Vickie was a sweet person.  I know she will be missed by family and friends.

In Memory of our Sister Vickie,

When Brendia contacted us about Vickie, Peggy and I were not able to express what we were feeling. 

Ineffable is the term for such situations - too great or extreme to be expressed or described in words.

After a little time we are able to select the following from our many memories.

Peggy loved the way Vickie always had a smile for everyone.

Vickie had depth in her compassion for all.  

She loved those moments in our family life that brought us closer together.  She would always bring up one of her favorites on the collective nose shapes found in the family.  Daddy had a longish nose with a cleft in the end as does one of our sisters.  Mama had a kind of wide and short nose.  Me and our older brother were blessed with longish pointed noses.  Vickie, Brendia and Jeffrey had "normal" noses.  It was a loving tease fest that caused a lot of laughter and when the subject was brought up.

 Vickie also had a strong sense of fairness.  She related a story of seeing an elderly couple driving over the Lake Charles bridge and the couple's car was being tailgated accompanied by the sound of a horn from the impatient driver.  Vickie saw the fear in the couple generated by the situation so Vickie followed the two cars and I assume at a  traffic light opened her door and yelled at the offending driver. 

She will be missed.
