Vina Benoit

Vina was a native of Gueydan and lived in Sulphur since 1950. She attended Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. She loved gardening. Vina worked as a school crossing guard on Patton Street for over 10 years. She really enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her sons, Harold Benoit of Carlyss, Leroy Benoit and his wife, Joan, of LaPorte, TX, and Mickie Benoit of Houston, TX; daughter, Vickie Benoit Thomas and her husband Frank of Sulphur; sister, Belvie David; brother, Irvin Charles Vincent; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Erson Benoit; and her daughter-in-law, Beverly Benoit.

The pallbearers will be her 7 grandsons.

The family wishes to thank all of the caregivers, especially Carla Bartie; and all of her doctors, especially Dr. Arthur Primeaux.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday with a rosary at 7 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, all at the funeral home.
