

She was a native of Springbrook, North Dakota and had been a resident of Sulphur since 1949, coming from Nederland, Texas. Violet was an active member of Henning Memorial United Methodist Church where she remained involved throughout the years with the Elderberries and the United Methodist Women group. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Ann Vick of Moss Bluff; one sister, Janie Trotman of Beaumont, Texas; two grandsons, Josh Vick and wife, Dana of Denton, Texas, and Gabe Vick and wife, Monique of Sulphur; one great-grandchild, Turner Vick, with another one on the way; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thaddeus Padden; three brothers, Lester, Harold, and Orville Hall; and a sister, Alta Wolf.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 26, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Revs. Heather Leyland and Doug Cain will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Thursday and from noon until the time of service Friday in the funeral home.
