

He was born in Houston, Texas and was a lifelong resident of Sulphur. Wayne was a graduate of Sulphur High School and had attended McNeese State. He was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and was active in the Episcopal Cursillo Movement for many years. He was a member and past president of the Maplewood/Hollywood Lions Club, actively supported the Lions Crippled Children Camp, and served on the Board of Directors for the West Calcasieu Habitat for Humanity. Being an avid gardener, Wayne loved being outdoors watching the wildlife while he tended to his vegetable and tropical flower gardens.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Colleen Lambert of Sulphur; son, Denton W. Lambert and wife, Donna of Kingwood, Texas; three grandchildren, Stuart Moss II, Denton J. Lambert, and Dylan T. Lambert; and sister, Jamie.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kyrie Moss; and his siblings, Joyce Ann, Karen, Sharon, and J.T.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 13, in Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. The Rev. Jim Benbrook will officiate. The family will receive friends following the memorial service in the church.
