Anne R Grammatico 81 passed away January 2, 2012 at Hospice of the Valley Gardiner Home in Phoenix. Anne married John Grammatico February 1947 in Michigan and relocated to Arizona in 1957 with their three children Jo Ann, Richard, and David.
Although the majority of her life was dedicated to family, she worked as a supervisor at Motorola, travel agent for Las Vegas tours, party coordinator at Tower Plaza Ice Rink and as a tax preparer. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother; as well as daughter, sister, aunt and friend to those near or far. It is what she gave of herself in these roles that made her life with us outstanding. The most important things in life were family, home, friends, and living an honest life. She was a devoted Catholic and prayed daily until she could no longer remember the words.
Being very strong willed and determined she achieved most of what she set her mind to doing. She did not believe in “no, you cannot” unless she was the one saying it. She enjoyed life, people and loved her home filled with company, laughter, and activity. If you needed help, it was there without hesitation doing whatever was in her power to do.
She was proud of everyone’s accomplishments in life but took much joy in her son Rick who entertained as a drummer and singer. However, her buttons popped watching her granddaughter Miki skate with Disney on Ice. It was because of her persistent dedication to Miki’s training over the years that allowed this opportunity to transpire.
Anne developed dementia which made watching the deterioration of her being and life most difficult. She was 4’ 6” tall, weighing 100 pounds and it never seized to amaze one how this tiny 81 year old could still keep you on your toes without missing a beat.
Anne left us on January 2, 2012 spending her last day the way she lived her life; surrounded by family and friends hearing laughter and sharing memories. She smiled, shed a tear and left to join all her loved ones waiting for her with open arms on the other side.
She leaves behind:
Daughter, Jo Ann
Sons, Chuck, Rick, and David
Grandchildren, Miki, Gena, Johnny Ray, and Cassie
Two great grandchildren
