She was a member of Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Deryl Battles; father, George Beckel; and mother, Clara (Ilgen) Beckel. She is survived by her sons, Paul Battles (wife Bianca) of San Dimas, CA and James Battles (wife Nicole is deceased) of La Crescenta, CA; sister, Marion Swanson of Des Plaines, IL; grandchildren: Jared Battles (wife Brianna) of Thousand Oaks, CA, Rachel Battles of La Crescenta, CA, Sarah Battles of La Crescenta, CA and Andrew Battles of San Dimas, CA.
Visitation will be at Sunland Mortuary on Saturday, July 13, 2013 from 9:00-11:00 A.M. and service at 11:00 A.M.
