Catherine Ann Lisowy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. After a sudden illness, she passed peacefully, surrounded by family, on March 15, 2026, in Phoenix, Arizona. She was 77 years old.
She was born in Brooklyn, New York, on November 19, 1948, to Richard and Elizabeth Starr. Her childhood was spent on Long Island, New York, where she graduated from Commack High School in 1966. She met Alan Lisowy in 1968, and they were married a year later. Their son, Alan Jr., was born in 1970, and in 1972 the family left New York for Colorado. After a short stop in Grand Junction, they settled in Littleton, where daughter Christine was born in 1974, and they made their home for nearly 35 years. During this time, Cathy worked for and retired from Allstate as an adjuster and fraud investigator.
Cathy loved spending time with her friends and family; knitting and crocheting; cooking and baking; and playing all kinds of board and card games. Her family will remember her most for her unwavering support at countless football, baseball, soccer, basketball, volleyball, cheer, and gymnastics events.
Cathy was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Starr (Catterson), and her father, Richard Starr. She is survived by her husband, Alan Lisowy; her son, Alan Lisowy Jr. (Nataleigh Lisowy); her daughter, Christine Anfield (Brandon Anfield); her brother, Richard Starr Jr.; her grandchildren, Allison and Jack Lisowy, and Peyton, Brady (Emily Anfield), Paige, and Kylie Anfield; and her great-granddaughter, Emilia Anfield.
Cathy will be interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado, in a private ceremony at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society.
