She was born May 17th, 1920 in Tipperary, Iowa to Nick and Catherine (Kate) Blazevic. Her parents immigrated to the United States from Croatia. She was married to Claude Smith on October 21st, 1946 until his death in July of 1968 and to Homer Ridnour on November 10, 1986 until his death in 2007. Kay operated a successful needlepoint business until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, sisters Sarah, Rose, Francis, Marion, Helen and brothers John, George, Nick and Tom.
She is survived by her sister Betty Trickel, brother Albert Blazevic, daughter Patricia Podgorski, son Michael (Martha) Smith, son Jeffrey Smith, grandchildren Doug (Patti) Olson, Krista (Anthony) Reed, Emily (Jay) Smith, Drew (Rachel) Smith and four great-grandchildren Gavin Jones, Kendal Jones, Finnegan Maher and Ana Maher.
Services will be held at 10 AM on her 104th birthday May 17th, 2024 at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Sun City.
Memorials can be made in lieu of flowers to the St. Clements Guild.
