

Dale Dean Walters, 89, passed away April 18, 2013. He was born in Hastings, Nebraska June 28, 1923 to Frances and Florence Walters. He married Priscilla Ann Cook in 1942 and were married for 69 years. He served in the United States Army in World War II with General George Patton’s 3rd Army Corps of Engineers. After the war, Dale and his father owned and operated their own service station in Hastings, before moving to Phoenix, AZ in 1958. Dale was employed with First National Bank of Arizona, later on known as First Interstate Bank, from 1960 until his retirement in 1985. In 1990 Dale fulfilled a dream of attending the Indianapolis 500 with his son Scott and continued to talk about how much he enjoyed it throughout the years. In 2011 he lost his beloved wife of 69 years, Priscilla, but continued to make his weekly visit to AJ’s Fine Foods, their favorite spot for several years, for his iced tea and to visit with friends and family. Dale is survived by his son Scott (Beth) of Surprise, sister Celestine Reynolds of Prescott, and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life for Dale will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at his son Scott’s home, 16607 N. 113th Ave. Dale’s ashes along with Priscilla’s will be interred at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, AZ at a later date.
