

“Anything is possible.” That is what Darin Kevin Evans believed about life. He was a creative man, a perpetual inventor, who seemed to be able to find a solution for any difficulty confronting him. He had faith in his ability to find those solutions. Darin thoroughly enjoyed understanding how things worked. He possessed an inquisitive, confident, and rational nature matched with a versatile and agile mind. Darin was a person who believed that he could achieve whatever he set out to do.
Darin was born on April 10, 1963 at Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. His parents were Albert and Faith. Darin was raised in Conneticutt. He showed his ingenuity even as a child. When he was confronted with a problem, Darin could develop an imaginative solution, and he derived satisfaction from knowing he had that ability.
This same talent for finding solutions had a positive bearing on Darin's family relationships. Darin had four siblings. He had two older brothers and two older sisters. Darin was raised with his brother Ty in a foster home.
As a young boy, Darin could be found building and inventing new and different things. He was curious, resourceful and interested in anything original. Darin took part in baseball. In his spare time he liked to hunt and fish with his Uncle.
Endowed with an appetite for knowing how his world worked, Darin enjoyed school, especially when the learning experience involved dissecting and probing the unknown. Darin was adept at scrutinizing different possibilities and designing innovative solutions. He enjoyed some courses more than others, having favorite classes and teachers. His favorite class in high school was auto shop and wood shop.
Darin was socially resourceful, an expressive person who was willing to try new things. These qualities drew a lively circle of friends around him. Always interested in his friends’ activities and interests, Darin was uncritical of his acquaintances. He was sought after by people who recognized that he was generous with his time and energy, and these same friends found Darin to be very stimulating company. Darin's humor and curiosity were contagious for those around him. Later in life, he became friends with the Williamson Family.
On April 1, 1995 Darin exchanged wedding vows with Diane Williamson at The Courthouse in Indiana. Darin was adept at devising original and creative ways to enhance and improve the marriage partnership. Darin brought out the best in others. Darin was an entertaining conversationalist who was quick to respond to his spouse’s needs. He was a vibrant personality and he enjoyed verbally sparring with Diane. In fact, those who knew him often remarked that Darin loved to argue for argument’s sake. He was very perceptive in recognizing others’ feelings, especially his friends and family.
Darin's remarkable talent for being inventive influenced his relationship with his children. He would create original, clever and fun games for his kids and had a knack for finding ways to make everyday events, even chores, enjoyable to them. Darin was blessed with two step children, One daughter Amanda and one son Aaron. He was also blessed with two grandchildren, Jaydah and Xander. Someone who was quick to laugh, Darin found it easy to spend lots of time with his children, but he was never overbearing or guilty of pushing himself on them.
As a born inventor, Darin was definitely in his element in his work place. He could easily create new and innovative systems, and incorporate those changes to bring a fresh approach to any work situation. Darin was a focused worker with a strong drive for achievement. He could assess all of the options before him and, using his analytical skills, could comfortably find answers that no one else had even considered. His personal initiative inspired those around him. His primary occupation was Insurance Agent. He was employed by various Insurance Companies. Darin always made an effort to be a team player, doing what needed was necessary in order to get the job done.
Darin's “never say die” attitude and his ability to face any challenge no matter how difficult it might be were tremendous assets that Darin carried with him into the military. Darin was an Army Airborne veteran and in the Army Reserve. He was in the Airborne division for four years and then when he was 42 years old he joined the Army reserve to fight for his country in Afghanistan. Darin saw action in the Operation Enduring Freedom Campaign.
Darin's passion for finding a better way to do things was often an end in itself for him. In fact, that interest by itself became something of a hobby for this perpetual problem solver. Since Darin was always searching for new and unusual activities, he developed many interests and leisure pursuits. Some of the things he became an “expert” in might come as a surprise to those who knew him, but most friends and family understood that Darin simply couldn't’t be limited to just a few activities or ideas. His favorite pursuits were Karaoke and dancing.
Darin's calm demeanor and eternally positive outlook served him well in sports. Recreational sports included bowling and target shooting. Darin was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite events whenever he got the opportunity. Tops on his list were UFC fighting and Boxing events.
Darin's talents were well suited for being actively involved in professional and community organizations, something he did throughout his life. He enjoyed being involved and was willing to jump in and help out in most any situation. Throughout his later years, Darin was an active member of the VFW.
Having the opportunity to visit and explore a new place always intrigued Darin. Traveling and going away on vacations offered yet another opportunity for Darin to expand his ever-growing inventory of knowledge. Favorite vacations included California and Florida, he loved Theme Parks and Roller Coasters.
Darin passed away on July 20, 2015 in Montana. Darin suffered from Heart problems for many years and passed from Heart Failure. He is survived by son Aaron and daughter-in-law Meghann, daughter Amanda, granddaughter Jaydah, grandson Xander, brother Ty, sisters Doreen and Debbie, found family sisters Dolores and Dana, brother Chuck and Mom Dolores. Services were held at Sunland Memorial Park & Mortuary. Darin was laid to rest at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
During his lifetime, nothing appeared impossible to Darin. He met the words “it can’t be done” with the enthusiastic challenge of a “wanna bet” attitude. Darin was able to recognize the possibilities a new idea held, even when those around him could not. For Darin, the traditional way of doing things fell short of his expectations, especially if there were original and untested methods for handling a challenge. For Darin Kevin Evans, the fun of living his life could be found in the challenge.
