

Doug was born in Midland, Texas, on October 9, 1964, to Jack and Beverly Bruner, He was known for his hard-working and patient nature. From a young age, he loved adventure and cherished spending quality time with his friends and family.
Doug served honorably in the United States Army, where his natural qualities made him an exceptional soldier. He loved his country deeply and was an inspirational figure to those around him.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Schmittle, his parents, Jack and Beverly Bruner, his brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Michelle Bruner, and his nieces, Sarah and Chloe Bruner. Doug will be fondly remembered by his family for his thoughtful and selfless nature.
Doug was a man of many interests and was never afraid to try new things. He pursued a degree in soil science, served his country, explored massage therapy, attended seminary, and eventually took up truck driving. He was always challenging himself and seeking new adventures. A devoted Christian, Doug's favorite book in the Bible was Peter, which he read so frequently that its pages became loose. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he believed in standing strong in faith, knowing that the suffering and pain of this world are temporary and the grace of heaven eternal.
Doug also had a passion for "two-wheel therapy," whether racing bicycles or riding motorcycles. He loved the adventure life offered on two wheels and found peace in nature. He cherished time spent in prayer and with his savior during long and peaceful motorcycle journeys.
Known for his kind and compassionate nature, Doug was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He lived his life with a "Salt of the earth" approach and was a great listener who offered hope to those suffering. Doug loved his family and enjoyed many dinners and celebrations filled with laughter, music, and the occasional cocktail. His family and faith meant more to him than anything else.
Douglas Stephen Bruner's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, as a man who inspired others through his kindness, faith, and adventurous spirit.
