Ellie Lillis Arntson

Eleanor “Ellie” Lillis Arntson, 87 of Peoria, Arizona passed into the loving arms of Jesus on January 22, 2014 at Banner Hospice unit in Peoria Arizona. She was born in Bronx, New York to William and LuLu Stetter on October 29, 1926. She married William Lillis in 1947. They had four children: Stephen, Kristine, Janet and William, Jr. William Lillis died in 1997 and Ellie married Ronald Arntson of Cedar Falls, Iowa in 2002.Ron lost his wife Norma of 45 years in 1999 and had two sons together: Brian and John .Ellie was a devoted wife and mother. Her life revolved around her family. She suffered a severe stroke in 2002 shortly after her marriage to Ron. In spite of her physical limitations, her zest for life was never diminished. She met her challenges with courage and was an inspiration to all. Her radiant smile well forever be remembered as a symbol of how, with God’s help, one can rise above adversity and find joy in life.She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Ron; 4 children: Stephen Lillis (Camille) of Haledon, NJ, Kristine Ozgar (Robert) of Finksburg, MD, Janet Curl (Michael) of Windsor, CA, William Lillis (Bridget) of Downingtown, PA: 2 stepsons: Brian Arntson (Shelly) of Cedar Falls, IA, John Arntson (Brenda) of Cedar Falls, IA; 9 grandchildren : Robert, Mark, Katie, Amanda, Sarah, Christina, Corinne, Brooke and Austin; and 6 great grandchildren.Preceded in death by husband William Lillis, 2 brothers: William Stetter, Warren Stetter, and Sister Helen Schwartz.Memorial service at Sunland Memorial Park, 15826 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ Friday, January 24, 2014 at 1pm.
