Harold was an over-the-road driver for 48 ½ years and for 20 years delivered for KKW Trucking Company of Pamona, California prior to his retirement in 2010. In 1978 and 1979, he won first place in the "State Championship Semi Truck Rodeo" for the State of Arizona. During his childhood years, he worked on the family farm in the beautiful Amish country of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. This farm continues to operate and has remained in the Esh family since the early 1900s. From 1955 to 1962, Harold continued working for other farmers throughout Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Harold will forever be remembered for his quick-witted sense of humor, contagious laugh, the sparkle in his eyes, humble nature, and the kind-hearted, caring, sincere man that he was. He had a large collection and loved sharing his adoration for John Deere tractors and spending time with his grandkids. He loved reminiscing about funny childhood stories with his family; and sharing his love of trucking, with his wife, who traveled with him for 4 years. Harold enjoyed being in the company of family and friends and welcomed all into his home. A very patriotic citizen, he had a strong love of Country and was very supportive of public safety personnel including all branches of the military; fire; and law enforcement. Harold also enjoyed hitting the road on his Harley when given the chance…even if just a short ride to the grocery store. He touched the lives of all he knew and loved, including those he may have only known for a short time; and he was always willing to lend a helping hand where ever needed.
Harold is survived by his wife, Pauline, of 58 years; his sons: William, Stuart (wife AnnaRe), Jamie (wife Julie), and Jeremy (wife Becky); his daughters: Beverly (husband Barry Adkins), Lori, and Jodi (husband Brett Hester): his grandchildren: Krysta, Eli, Ashley, Zachary, Sean, Madison, Andrew, Drew Butler, Crystal, Kaden, Emerson, Sophia, Cassandra, Sarah, Adrian, Anthony, Jennifer, Jordan, and Megan; his great grandchildren: Cece, Kelby, Evelyn, Trinity, Kadin, Riley, Anna, Katie, Preston, Collin, and Peyton. Harold is preceded in death by his son, Douglas, grandchildren Kevin, Clinton, and Joshua & great grandson, Kyle.
As we mourn his loss, we will always remember the man who brought so much joy and happiness to those around him and the love he gave to his family. He will forever be remembered and missed dearly until we all meet again in Heaven. We love you!
