

James (Jim) Hubert Strong, a beloved and devoted individual, passed away at the age of 85 on June 23, 2025, in Glendale, Arizona. Born on December 18, 1939, in Gary, Indiana, James moved to Arizona as a young child at the age of eight. His greatest love was his family, and he was known for being hard-working, kind-hearted, generous, resilient and ( If you were to ask Jim) most importantly a devout Catholic .
During his early years, James had a passion for building quarter-mile drag cars while in high school. He later retired as a safety director from Bel-Aire Mechanical, where he made significant contributions throughout his career.
James was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Strong, his mother, Margaret Strong, his wife, Santina Dinan, and his grandson, Brody Dinan. He is survived by his children, Nancy & Edward Martinez, James & Margaret Dinan, Michael & Teresa Dinan, and Suzanne Evans. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michelle & Christopher Cardone, Mary Dinan, Melissa Andersen, Meghan Evans, EJ Evans & Dylan Dinan, and his great-grandchildren, Nolan Dinan, Liam Dinan, Matteo Cardone, Michael Cardone, and Sloan Andersen.
James had a lifelong love of watching Westerns and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting with his sons and grandchildren. He was also an avid coin collector. In his community, he was a member of the Single Action Shooting Society, where he was known as Lucky Nugget.
A visitation will be held on July 10, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Sunland Memorial Park, Mortuary & Crematory, located at 15826 North Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351. A committal service will take place at the same location from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
James Hubert Strong will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
