1944 - 2020
Jim was born November 30, 1944 in Canton, Illinois. He passed away peacefully at home where he resided in Peoria, Arizona with his wife, Mary.
Jim spent his younger years in Illinois, then moving to Phoenix when his parents relocated their business. After High School, he joined the Navy, training in San Diego. He had tours of duty in Hawaii and served on a destroyer in Japan. Following his Navy years, he returned to California, where he worked as a drywaller.
Jim and Mary were married on June 16, 1973 in Denver, Colorado. They were married 47 years. Moving to follow the drywall work, they lived in many states, Colorado, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon and Texas.
Jim loved music, dancing, and strumming his guitar. He loved animals, children and a good laugh. After retirement, he still found time to design, remodel and build things. He especially loved the desert, fishing and gold prospecting.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Mary Stewart; daughters Darla Stewart, and Kimberlee (Matt) Sodt; and grandchildren Alexis and Matthew.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents George and Dorothy Stewart; brother Tom Stewart; and son James Lee Stewart.
We are thankful for you being such a big presence in our lives. We love you and we will miss you dearly.
