

Joseph Leo Bohr Jr. was born on Friday, June 12, 1942, in Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania. Joseph married Marion DeHondt in 1964. They raised their family in Capac, Michigan where he was an active member of the Athletic Boosters Club. Joseph was an excellent tool designer, working in the automotive industry for over 40 years until his retirement. After Marion's passing, Joseph married Janet in 1988. They remained together in happiness until Joseph's passing on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. He is survived by his adoring wife Janet Bohr.
During Joseph's life, he enjoyed many hobbies such as watching Detroit area television - especially the Detroit Lions and Tigers, playing games on his tablet “in his office”, his annual trip to a casino, and spending time with his family and friends. He loved his crossword puzzles, as well as his occasional scratch off tickets. Joe also enjoyed the game of golf and shared the love of the game with his many friends and family. Joe was and always will be a deeply loved man.
Joseph is loved and remembered by his children Bridget (Jim) Messner, Cindy (Ken) Kluz and Joseph (Maria) Bohr III, as well as his stepchildren Randy Overton, Craig (Terry) Seros, Jeffrie (Noreen) Seros and Thomas (Cathy) Seros.
Joseph's memory is held by his loving grandchildren Eric Messner, Alyssa Messner, Alexandria (Derek) Nowak, Samantha Kluz, Jessica Kluz, Danielle (Justin) Kluz, Jenna Bohr, Michael Bohr, Jordan (Quintin) Pavel, Eliza Seros, Jeffrie T.N. Seros, Erin Seros, Thomas (Victoria) Seros and Alyssa Seros.
Joseph's memory lives on with his great-grandchildren Dominik Nowak, Talia Nowak and Claire Seros. He will be remembered by many of his loving nieces and nephews.
Joseph is survived by his siblings Mary Lou (Robert) Hinz and James Bohr Sr.
Joseph was preceded in passing by Marion (DeHondt) Bohr, Joseph Leo Bohr IV, Andrew Messner, John Bohr, Virginia Bohr and his parents Joseph and Rita Bohr.
Services for Joseph Leo Bohr Jr. will be held at 10:00 am on March 13, 2024, at St. Clement of Rome Church, Sun City AZ with a reception following at the Coyote Lakes Recreation Center.
Funeral services in Michigan will begin with visitation hours on Sunday, March 24 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at St. Margaret of Scotland Church, 21201 E. Thirteen Mile Road, St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48082. The funeral will take place March 25 with visitation at 10:00 am, the homily at 10:30 am and a reception immediately following.
