Born February 2, 1927, Joe is the son of the late Frank and Ella Kurzweil of Chicago, Il. He graduated from Tilden Technical School in 1944. Joe joined the Navy and served in the Pacific Theater in World War II. He married Clare Theresa (nee Berberich) in 1947. They had 3 children. Joe worked many years in the steel fabrication industry.
Joe was a lifelong Knight of Columbus, serving in councils in Chicago Il, Addison, Il and Sun City West, AZ. He was several times a Grand Knight. He served on the Sun City West Posse and at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Sun City West. He loved his family, puttering around the house, and celebrating with friends and family.
Along with his parents, he is predeceased by seven brothers and sisters, his wife, Clare, and son, Joseph. He is survived by his son, Peter Joseph, his daughter, Diane Therese, daughter-in- law Edyth Mary and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A Mass will be held at a later time.
