Kathleen Kathy Rose Tilton

Kathy Tilton, 70, lost her battle with cancer on August 20, 2016 in Sun City, AZ. She was grateful for the last 14 years she had after being diagnosed in March 2002. Kathy McCormick Tilton was the fifth child of seven children. She was born January 29, 1946 in Springfield, IL to Howard and Marcella McCormick. Growing up in Ottawa, IL and during her 10th grade, she and most of her family moved to Arizona in November 1961. Kathy met the love of her life, Dean Tilton, in 1966 and married in 1967. They enjoyed traveling and were involved in the Z-car Club of Arizona for 10 years and then became involved in the PT Cruiser Clubs for the last 11 years. Kathy retired from Honeywell after 40 years. She was a loyal and reliable hard worker. Kathy could also be just a little “stubborn”. Kathy was celebrated for her loving spirit as well as her warmth and sensitivity. She lives in the hearts of all she touched. Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Robert; and a sister, Ginny Boers. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Ruth Aubry and Roberta Lewis of IL; Sue Byrd of GA; Judy Buchan of CA; 16 nieces and nephews, 44 great nieces and nephews. Kathy especially had a special relationship with her niece, Tracy Walter. Visitation with family will be Sunday, 4PM, with a Celebration of Life service at 5PM, followed with a reception at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351.
