

Leonard J. Brinkman, Age 91, passed away on July 2, 2015, in Surprise, Arizona. He was born Leonard John Brinkman on July 26, 1923, in Beadle County, South Dakota to parents Joseph and Geraldine Brinkman. On December 27, 1949, Leonard married Wilma Koch (pronounced Cook) at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Huron, South Dakota. They lived in Huron and Aberdeen briefly, and moved to Rapid City, South Dakota in 1956. Leonard and Wilma were in business there until they retired in 1983, and moved to Sun City, Arizona. Leonard was active in men's gold organizations and bowling. He was a member of the Elks, Knights of Columbus, and St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church. Leonard was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma, on June 30, 2015, two days before his own passing. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mary Alice Martin of Huron, South Dakota and a brother, Gerald of Seattle, WA. Leonard is survived by two brothers, Edward of Longview, WA and James of Huron, South Dakota as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation for Leonard and Wilma will be held at 9:30 am on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Boulevard, Sun City Arizona. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00 am at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 15800 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ. Wilma and Leonard will be laid to rest at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City, AZ.
