

With profound sorrow, the family of Carolyn mourns the passing of a remarkable woman on December 23, 2023 at her home. She, whose life began on January 18, 1936 in Stambeau, MI embarked on a journey that profoundly touched the lives of all fortunate enough to know her.
Carolyn Sauter was an exceptional individual, known for her unwavering kindness, selflessness, and joyful spirit. She was a beacon of strength and a source of unwavering support for her family, friends, and community.
From an early age, Carolyn exhibited a passion for teaching, which later blossomed into a lifelong pursuit. She pursued her academic endeavors at Michigan State University, where she not only excelled academically but also developed lifelong friendships and mentorships. Graduating with honors in Education, Carolyn went on to teach elementary school, and then her three sons and grandchildren. She also volunteered in elementary schools for many years.
Beyond her teaching, Carolyn dedicated her time to the church and various philanthropic endeavors. She believed in giving back to the community and was actively involved in initiatives aimed at education.
Carolyn will be lovingly remembered by her adoring family, including husband John, children Kurt (Karen), Karl (Cristy), Kraig (Tammy); grandchildren Katie, Elizabeth, Jacob, Ryan, Lucas, Daniel, and Garret; sister Marilyn, and a large extended family. Her joyful spirit, humor, and unwavering love will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched.
Friends and acquaintances alike were drawn to Carolyn’s magnetic personality, cherishing her companionship, and benefiting from her invaluable advice and guidance. Her legacy of compassion and generosity will continue to inspire generations to come.
A celebration of Carolyn’s life will take place on Saturday, December 30 at Crown of Life Lutheran Church in Sun City West AZ, at 11:00 a.m. where we will honor her memory and reminisce about the beautiful moments shared with her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Bright Focus Alzheimer’s Disease Research.
