

Marlene was born September 8, 1938 in East Chicago, Indiana to Adam James Stasak and Rose Marie (Zora) Reschan. Her father died in 1954 when Marlene was 16 years old. Upon graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1957 she immediately took a job with Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) to help support her widowed mother. She worked there, in a variety of positions, for 36 years until her retirement in 1993. At NIPSCO she met Don McCoin, an engineer with the company. They married in 1975 and had a joint retirement 1993. Then resided in Lowell, Indiana from 1975 until 2015 when they moved to Westbrook Village in Peoria, Arizona.
Marlene loved to travel. Prior to her marriage she took a solo tour of Europe and trips with girl friends to Mexico, Hawaii and Las Vegas. With Don she visited Canada, Jamaica, cruises to Hawaii and Alaska. They travelled extensively in the US, visiting 47 of the 50 States. She enjoyed 2 stays in London with her cousin Louise. At their homes in Lowell they did extensive remodeling and making additions to their homes.
She died on July 9, 2024 at her home in Peoria, Arizona after a short illness.
She will be entombed at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City, Arizona.
She leaves behind her sister Joan (Edmund) Kulesa, nephews James Kulesa (Joanette), Robert Kulesa, niece Kathleen (Warren) Miedema, grand nephews Eric (Sara) Miedema, and Mathew (Kimberly) Miedema. Great grand nieces Lily Jan Miedema, Ava Marie Miedema and Zoe Rose Miedema.
She precedes us to the next world just to make it a better place when we join her there.
