Orchid grew up in Detroit Michigan with a love for dance, modeling and enjoyed performing. At the age of 15, her father built an area in their basement for a dance studio, putting up mirrors and a ballet bar and her ballet business began. She outgrew the basement and with the help of her parents, opened a dance studio in Detroit. Earl worked across the street and would always admire her beauty. One day he had the confidence to walk up to her having coffee just down the street. He introduced himself and the rest was history.
Orchids' business became so successful that Earl & Orchid bought a building in Mt. Clemens Michigan. One side was the dance studio, 'Orchid Diane Studio of Dance' and the other side had theatrical costumes, dance supplies and costumes for Halloween, some extremely scary, especially for a young person to see. I'm sure it left an impression on many. The shop was called 'Shoppe de Dance' which Earl ran.
Earl and Orchid sold the businesses , retired early and moved to Glendale, Az approximately 1986. The traveled frequently; Orchid took some dance classes, joined the Red Hats and loved to indulge at the Casinos. She tended to have good luck many times.
Orchid was unique, talented, artistic, private and stoic in her own way. She prided herself on her appearance and had a great sense of taste and style.
Orchid is now with her best friend and husband, Earl. They can now rest in peace, together.
