Robert “Bob” Harlan Gunnison Jr., 73, of New River, AZ, passed away on September 27, 2015. He was born on January 19, 1942 to Rebe and Robert Gunnison Sr. in Alton, Illinois. Bob moved to Arizona in 1957 and was self-employed in the precious metal mining industry for over 34 years.
Bob will be missed by his loving wife, Vonie Jo Gunnison; children, Adrianne Rae Sloat (Ed), Clinton Robert Gunnison (Mary); David Watson (Christine), and Kathleen Schmitt (Gary); 12 grandchildren; brother, John Michael Gunnison (Lorra) and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Thomas William Gunnison.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2015 at Sunland Mortuary-Lakeside Chapel, 15826 Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351. The family will receive friends at 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The 100 Club of Arizona which assists families of those in fire, public safety or law enforcement who are injured or killed in the line-of-duty or Wounded Warrior Project.
