Robert "Bob" Raymond Drake, age 68, of Show Low, Arizona passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 in Sun City, AZ. Bob was born May 7, 1953 in Chicago, IL and moved to Arizona when he was two years old.
He graduated from Maryvale High School and attended NAU. After college, Bob proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a disabled Veteran.
Bob was a Glendale Police officer until the early 1980's. He then obtained his MBA from Arizona State University and his Certified Public Manager Certificate. Bob worked for the City of Glendale AZ as the Revenue Administrator, retiring from the city in 2005.
Some of Bob's hobbies were Ham Radio, fishing a beautiful lake, creating metal art and metal detecting. He loved spending summers in the White Mountains, Showlow, AZ and wintering in Sun City, AZ.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife Karen, son Brian (Jody Boyer) Drake, sister Diana (Ed) Steinhoff, and several nieces and nephews, his brother-in-laws, Mike (Jodene) Tryon and Gary Tryon. He shares his DNA with his "blood brother" Horst and Valentina Oberstotter of Munich Germany.
A visitation will be held Thursday, February 3, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Sunland Memorial Park, Mortuary & Cremation Center, 15826 North Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351. A graveside service with military honors will occur Friday, February 4, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to your favorite animal shelter in Bob's memory.
