CDR Robert “Bob” Kramer, USN, CEC, ret. A beloved, gentle soul has been set free. Bob was a mensch who personified goodness, valuing family and relationships above all. He peacefully passed away on Monday, November 7, 2016, from complications of a stroke suffered in 2010. Bob was surrounded by family, whom he lovingly referred to as his harem. As an adored husband of 61 years, he is survived by his wife Arlette, their daughters Karen Sher (Barrie), Dr. Diane Donley (Mark), Kimberly Schultz (Neal) and Delsee Altman (Jeff). Grandchildren include: Season Sherman, Brooks Teitelbaum; Sarah and Gavin Donley; Bradley, Gregory and Colby Schultz; and Karli and Kasey Altman. His harem continues through three great-granddaughters. In addition, he leaves his late brother Charles’s wife, Pat Kramer, and her extended family. Bob grew up in Weatherford, Oklahoma, and remained an avid Sooner fan. He graduated from The Speed School of the University of Louisville on an NROTC scholarship. Years later, he earned his Master’s degree from the U.S. Naval Post Graduate School. His twelve tours of duty ranged from California to Virginia, The Philippines to Alaska. He was awarded the bronze star for his service in Vietnam. After his Naval career, the family moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. Bob was in the construction business and later joined Arlette in real estate. Upon full retirement, they moved to Surprise, Arizona and recently to Sun City, Arizona. The family is grateful to Tito Gabantes for four years of dedicated care giving, and more recently to the Royal Oaks Care Center and Summit Hospice for their compassionate care. A memorial to celebrate Bob’s life will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016, at 11am, Temple Beth Shalom, 12202 N. 101st Ave, Sun City, AZ 85351.
