
My sincere and heartfelt condolences to all who knew my Aunt Rose and to Bill and Angie for taking such good care of her  the pictures they sent in the past few years showed it so well !  If you have been involved with such so personal and emotional matters you know how difficult it can be  some good days and some not !

But so many happy memories   she was quite the lady in her own very special personal way   she said you could get to heaven even with driver's license  she preferred not to drive and she was the only one in her senior group that did not use a computer she was pleased about !

Again another loss of the  greatest generation  as  in Tom Brokaw's  so famous book.

We owe them so much in so many ways for making our lives so much better than they could have been otherwise.

So by this still so new evolving  computer / internet social media, we can all share our lives about  her even though we are so far away.

So many happy memories, but I just offer a few that were very specially meaningful to both of us.

1]Bill will remember the many  summer picnics   of our families at Lake George north of where we lived then.  Already prepared clam steams for lunch and steaks, hot dogs, hamburgers, etc. cooked there on their park barbecue devices for supper.

2]A]Aunt Rose and I phoned each other about every month on Sunday  to
  check in  on how things were going in our lives.  Of course the time difference was fun to deal with.  She just even begged me to come out and visit,  since the area is so fantastic.  

B]Then I called   during the week  and she said what is the matter  was there a death in the family ?  I said no, but guess where I am  Phoenix . AZ on one of my many trips for my decades of STS [science, technology and society] research. Without any hesitation she said we will be there in the morning. What a time we had that afternoon, lunch, chatting, driving around the fantastic area, etc. ! I even have a picture around here somewhere.

3]My Grandmother made sure all her daughters knew how to  cook very well.  They all had their own specialties and her specialty was  baked beans !   I still like them,  but the ones today are nothing like her so special baked beans  also of course !

4]When the Opar's got together at my Grandparents home in South Troy, NY, all the neighbors knew it  all did well,  so the newest cars clogging the street, the newest shirts for the men that were not even out yet since many worked in the local  shirt factories, the ritual tapping of the beer keg by my Grandfather  his Pete's grill for the local iron workers was very popular, the Victrola playing the latest records and all brought their own special foods  they all married others of different nationalities so you can only imagine what the food was like , etc.

5]Many great family events at their rural home in nearby  Watervliet, NY  that Uncle Bill personally  built most of  my Dad an electrician helped him with some of the electric.

6]Aunt Rose and Uncle Bill had great lives and did so well, including being so happy and active in Arizona,  besides being so close to Bill and Angie..  Shows
  genes   are good  living until 94  wow !

So I could go on and on naturally as I am sure many of you can also.

Great color card Angie and Bill sent  it is scanned and goes on my many PhotoFrames around the house to keep reminded of the so  many happy memories !  I did not know her middle name was Marie.

Now in PA since late 1960's.  Winters much milder here than NY State of course  Aunt Rose said she could never go back of course and me neither !

Rose, you were a very classy lady.
RIP I will always think of you fondly.
