Rosemary Saputo was born October 5th, 1925, to Wayne and Beulah Tingley of Hymera, Indiana---a true coal miners' daughter. From the time of her birth, Rosemary was Daddy's little girl. Always in the company of her father when not in school or participating in extracurricular activities. Eventually her spirit of adventure together with a yearning for knowledge drove Rosemary to abandon the small-town life for the allure of the big city. She spent several years after High School working in the Chicago Illinois area, later moving on to Washington, D.C. It was here that she went back to school and completed her education with the accomplishment of earning her bachelor's degree. She also secured her future by attaining a job working for the U.S. Army at the Pentagon. Here, her organizational skills and prolific verbal capabilities landed her a position as a top management analyst. These were Rosemary's "golden" years.
Good fortune came her way now not only with career, but with the meeting of her new life partner, Anthony Saputo. The two were married in 1980 and the union lasted 43 years until Tony's passing on November 3rd, 2023. These were years filled with charitable works and public contribution, especially the entertaining of area school children with their routine as a clown act and seasonally filling the roles of Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus.
Rosemary leaves behind a legacy as an eclectic storyteller. This talent she combined with her endless pursuit of humor to keep her friends laughing throughout the day, oftentimes to the point of tears. Rosemary passed away peacefully on February 18th, 2026, with her close friends by her side. She will be sorely missed but never forgotten by all those fortunate enough to have known her.
