She moved to Arizona in 1955 and went to work for Mountain Bell. Telephone Pioneer with over 30 years of service when she retired from AT&T in March 1997.
She enjoyed travel (particularly cruises), spending time with family and friends and was an avid Arizona State Sun Devils fan and Arizona Cardinal season ticket holder.
Sylvia is survived by her mother, Vela Sharp of Glendale, AZ; sister, Wyla Phillips (Cliff) of Bellfower, CA; daughter, Deborah Boyd (William) of Phoenix, AZ, daughter, J. Renee Larsen (Allan of Peoria, AZ, Sean Dunnavant (Jennifer) of Surprise, AZ and five grandchildren, Jacob Larsen (Brittini), Dana Larsen, Tiffany Dunnavant, Joshua Dunnavant and Benjamin Dunnavant.
