Tristan is the youngest son of Natasha Boyles, my identical twin sister, making the twins' collective 5 children half siblings genetically. These were also raised as such, all 5 living in the same home often, homeschooling together and in the journey of life there have been good chunks of time where these sisters had the joy of helping to raise each other's children. This unique detail in their lives has made them more siblings to each other and surrogate children to their mothers, who often joke regarding having joint custody.
Tristan was a young man that wrestled with God. He carried some pain and had many questions for Our Lord, but made it very known that the only times he truly felt peace was when serving the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass as an altar boy. He was a gentle, yet fierce and deeply feeling soul that appreciated relationships that encapsulated the depth of the meaning of life. He was also a young man who, due to his intimate relationship with pain, naturally functioned as a salve of compassion in his dealings with others. He always had an ear to listen and brought silliness and joy and friendship to anyone he met. He was my youngest daughter Gwendolyn's best friend and fiercest protector. She has stated she always felt free in his presence. If you had the pleasure of knowing Tristan in any capacity, he truly knew you back. He rarely wasted time with social niceties, small talk or cliques. He intuitively saw into you without judgement and was drawn to a special and tender relationship with his Great Grammy, Anne, his down syndrome Aunt Stephanie and his surrogate sister, Rheilly. If he wasn't listening to music he was humming or tapping out the score of his life that consistently played in his mind; much like his late Grandfather, Garry Rochelle; whom he also favored in humor and looks to a comforting degree. He loved his kitties and his bright yellow snake he named Banana. He also loved all things in "God's Country", including animals, forest, lakes, mountains, rivers and the wild and untouched beauty of Gods deserts. He rode motorcycles fearlessly and was a true, second amendment loving, patriot and family man. He was a highly skilled blue collar worker, even at so young an age. He loved cowboy boots, his snake skin banded cowboy hat, big trucks and his boys. His brothers Eli and Aidan were looked up to and inspired motivation in Tristan. All of the boys had such challenging relationships at times, but always held each other in such high regard. They never failed to remind each other to keep climbing. He also had many chosen brothers, such as Eddie and Noah and Peyton, whom he treasured dearly, and as his own blood. He was humble and handsome and just an authentic and fun person whose presence inspired others to release the chaos of this world and just embrace the gift that is life.
And we loved him. We all loved him so much. With our Lord now, who knows his great charity of others that covers a multitude of sins, many of us would trade places with him in a heartbeat to repay what he freely gave. But we are to fully trust in the love and mercy as well as the justice of the Holy Sacrifice of the Cross, and so our prayer remain - FIAT VOLUNTAS TUA.
Gregorian Masses are being said for the repose of this gentle soul. Please pray for his rest in the Arms of our Most Gracious Savior, Jesus Christ.
