

Vanita Blanche Osborn (Jones) Trausch 91 of Sun City, was born June 11, 1920 in Wetumka Oklahoma to Jeddie L. Osborn and Alta M. Osborn (Sowell). She died peacefully at home February 22, 2012.
One of nine children growing up on a farm, she attended Friendship School House, Wetumka High School and later continued her education attending business classes at Ventura College in Ventura, California.
In 1937 she married Robert B. Jones. They had three children, Douglas L. Jones, Peggy L. Jones and Merle W. Jones.
In 1939, Bob and Vanita moved to California where she was the manager of Lee’s Two Way Radio in Ventura for 15 years. In 1977 after 38 years in California they moved to Sun City, Arizona where she was active in the R. V. Club, Red Hats and shuffleboard. She enjoyed art (painting), the organ and dining & dancing at the Lakes Club.
After Bob died, she met Vern G. Trausch and they married on December 11, 1991. Happily married for 20 years, they lived in Quail Run until June 2008, then moved to El Dorado of Sun City where they met many new friends.
Vanita was preceded in death by her parents Jeddie L. and Alta M. Osborn, first husband Robert B. Jones, sister Reba Henry and brothers J. L. Osborn Jr. and Grant Osborn.
She is survived by her son and his wife Douglas L. and Treasa Jones, daughter Peggy L. Jones, son and his wife Merle W. and Jacqueline Jones and step-son and his wife Mike and Vickie Trausch. Sisters: Geneva Azbell, Doris Phillips and Shirley Zachary (Herva). Brothers: Roy Osborn (Betty) and Bill Osborn (Betty). Eight grandchildren: Jeffrey Dover, Robert Dover (Blanca), Cindy Conover (Henry), Joey Gibbs, Ronald Jones (Sarah), Karen Boucher (Daniel), Vonda Best (Richard) and Trevor Jones (Jocelyn). 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Vanita's honor to Sunshine Service Inc.of Sun City 9980 Santa Fe Dr. Sun City, AZ 85351. Or to Hospice of the Valley 1510 E Flower St. Phoenix, AZ 85014.
