

Walter H. Schwiebert, age 91, of Peoria, AZ died on November 25, 2014 at Clare Bridge Freedom Plaza Care Center. Mr. Schwiebert was born in Hamler, Ohio and lived in Toledo where he attended Toledo University. Mr. Schwiebert moved his family to Phoenix, AZ in 1958. Mr. Schwiebert is survived by two sons and their wives, John of Stanton, CA and Thomas of Osceola, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren, Andy, Ehren, Shannon, Camden, Kelly, Brent and Darren; and eleven great grandchildren, Kaira, Luke, Mayah, Arden, Keira, Kennedy, Peyton, Harrison, Blake, Bryce, and Olivia. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Peter who died December 17, 2004; three wives, Jean Ellen Marcy (married February 26, 1944), Marie and Peggy; three brothers, Wilford at age one; Richard and David; and a sister, Ruth.
Mr. Schwiebert worked at Autolite in Toledo, Ohio for 15 years and Valley National Bank. Mr. Schwiebert was employed for 30 years by the Valley National Bank of Arizona in Phoenix AZ as vice president of computer systems for 30 years before retiring in 1988.
He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Phoenix for 39 years and was a member of The American Lutheran Church in Sun City. He was a Life Member of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL), the West Valley Amateur Radio Club and Quarter Century Wireless Association. His was a ham radio operator for 75 years. Mr. Schwiebert enjoyed traveling to Australia, New Zealand, China, Russia, several times to Europe, and many places in the United States.
Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. on Friday, December 5, with a Funeral Service at 10 a.m. at Sunland Mortuary-Lakeside Chapel in Sun City. Burial will follow the service at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Glendale, AZ.
