

Edwin Wagter, a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on June 8th, 2025 at the youthful age of 95. He was born on March 9th, 1930, in Platte, South Dakota. Edwin was the youngest of nine children born to Jeanie Credit and William Wagter.
After graduating high school, Edwin entered the newly formed division of the US military; the Air Force. While in the service he met the love of his life, in Madison, Nebraska, Betty Ann Goering. They were married October 3, 1950. They were married for 60 years until Betty went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ in June 2011. Edwin and Betty were blessed with four children: Bill, John, Cookie, & Janelle. From the children they were blessed with 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
After leaving the military, Edwin went to work for McDonnell Douglas in California. After 35 years of servicing, inspecting and certifying several planes in the MD-series, he retired in Yuma, Az. Because of his 35+ years of being around airplanes he could identify any plane that he saw or heard flying. He could talk forever about airplanes.
Edwin was an avid bowler for more than 60 years. He managed a bowling alley, part-time, for many years in Palmdale, California, where he and Betty spent many years bowling in leagues and participating in city and national tournaments.
Edwin is survived by his son John & family, living in Riverside, California, daughter Cookie, living in Surprise, Arizona, and daughter Janelle & family, living in New Braunfels, Texas. His oldest son Bill, passed away in May 2024.
Throughout his life, Edwin was a loving, giving, cheerful and friendly person. He made friends wherever he went. He was gifted with many talents and will be greatly missed. His family takes great joy in knowing that he is with Jesus Christ and that they will see him again.
