Evelia Quijada Ruiz

Con profundo dolor, pero también con gratitud por su vida, anunciamos el fallecimiento de nuestra querida madre, Evelia Quijada Ruiz, quien partió en paz, rodeada del amor de su familia, después de una larga y valiente lucha contra el cáncer.

Evelia nació en Sahuaripa, Sonora, México, y vivió la mayor parte de su vida en Somerton, Arizona, donde formó un hogar lleno de amor, fe y alegría. Fue una mujer de fe firme, que siempre confió en Dios tanto en los momentos buenos como en los más difíciles.

Se distinguía por su sentido del humor único; le encantaba exagerar las historias y hacer reír a todos los que la rodeaban. Su alegría era contagiosa, y su manera de contar las cosas dejaba sonrisas en cada conversación. Era una mujer cariñosa, servicial y siempre dispuesta a ayudar a quien lo necesitara.

Fue una mujer muy trabajadora y valiente, que siempre quiso lo mejor para su familia. Su amor se reflejaba en cada esfuerzo, en cada sacrificio y en cada momento dedicado a sus seres queridos.

Fue una madre amorosa y dedicada, cuyo legado vivirá en sus hijos, su familia y en todas las personas que tuvieron la bendición de conocerla.

Le sobreviven sus hijos, Arturo, Princess y Priscilla, siendo Priscilla un ángel con necesidades especiales, quienes continúan honrando su vida y su legado con amor.

Expresamos un agradecimiento muy especial a su equipo de oncología en Mayo Clinic, al Dr. Ahn, al equipo de radiología de UCLA y a la organización PanCAN, por el cuidado, apoyo y acompañamiento brindados durante su enfermedad, y por tratarla siempre con tanta gracia y dignidad.

Agradecemos profundamente las oraciones, el apoyo y el cariño que hemos recibido durante este tiempo tan difícil. Su amor la sostuvo y le dio fuerzas hasta el final.

With profound sorrow, but also deep gratitude for her life, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Evelia Quijada Ruiz, who departed peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Evelia was born in Sahuaripa, Sonora, Mexico, and spent most of her life in Somerton, Arizona, where she built a home filled with love, faith, and joy. She was a woman of strong faith who trusted in God through both the good times and the most difficult moments.

She was known for her unique sense of humor—she loved to exaggerate stories and make everyone around her laugh. Her joy was contagious, and her storytelling brought smiles to every conversation. She was kind, caring, and always willing to help anyone in need.

Evelia was a hardworking and courageous woman who always wanted the best for her family. Her love was shown through every effort, every sacrifice, and every moment she devoted to those she loved.

She was a devoted and loving mother whose legacy will live on through her children, her family, and all who were blessed to know her.

She is survived by her children, Arturo, Princess, and Priscilla, with Priscilla being a special angel with special needs, all of whom will continue to honor her life and legacy with love.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to her oncology team at Mayo Clinic, to Dr. Ahn, to the radiology team at UCLA, and to PanCAN, for their care, support, and compassion throughout her illness, and for always treating her with such grace and dignity.

We are deeply grateful for the prayers, love, and support we have received during this difficult time. Your love lifted her and gave her strength until the very end.
