i am the third son  Duane ( duey) Carter, Everything good about being a man i learned from my dad, honesty, loyalty, hard work, dedication to family, 
as a child i thought of him as a giant, a rock, i never doubted he would be there when needed, i admired him then, i admire him now, as he got older i saw more of his humor, his laugh, his smile, his love- my god i miss him and feel my two youngest children ( whom he loved from afar) never got the chance to be with him.
His loss left a hole in the family that can never be filled and seemed to lessen the connections that tenously held us together. I dream of him often, memories that come to life and words of my friends that came to see in him those same traits i loved so much.

I can't believe the day has come that I must write this. My pampie was the best man that I have ever known. I will always cherish the memories of my childhood and growing up with Pampie by my side. I will always associate things such as MASH, Sanford and Sons, The Cosby Show, World News Tonight, and CSI Miami with memories of being at pampies. I will always remember the days after school at the house on Greenway, the dinners he made (or breakfasts) and piling on the bed at the end of the night, around 9pm. I will always remember driving to California during the summers and all of the places we went. I can't walk the mall without reminiscing, I can't eat at Peter Piper without thinking of all of the times we spent there, and the happy occassions that were celebrated. Everything reminds me of special times with pampie over the years. I will always appreciate the talks about "foolishness" and the words of wisdom and stories that were given to me over my 36 years. I will forever miss the best grandpa to myself and best great grandpa to my children. Thank you to my pampie for being an example of a man and always helping us kids. He is carried in all of us and we will forever carry him in our hearts.

My Strength, Wisdom and Stubbornness all come from my Pampy Everett F. Carter. I am Grateful for Every one of those qualities. My Strength keeps me going even in the Darkest of times, this being one of them. The wisdom he passed down Allows me to triumph through this incredibly difficult world with a little more power on my side.. knowledge is so powerful and Trust me We All Need it. And if it wasn't for my Stubbornness, I probably wouldn't have tried to prove Alot of people wrong along the way when they said you can't get through this life without being hateful or being mean or being an enemy, it helped me stick to what I believe in and stand my ground even when the odds we're against me and I was able to be a voice for people who didn't have one and stand behind them in case they started to fall. I Hope one day I Too Can pass down Alot of the Wisdom and strength that My Sweet Pampy gave to me. Pampy, every time I smell french toast I think about you and All of the mornings you spent making us grandkids potatoes and french toast, the Delicious way. I make sure to make mine taste just like yours, for we have to Keep the Goodness Alive and going. Pampy I Always Appreciated you being there for me to "punch someone in the nose" if they needed it 😉 and I Know, I Know, I Just KNOW that I WILL "see you later Alligator or  maybe even in a while crocodile." When we lose a loved one here on earth, we gain an angel in heaven that watches over us. May you take comfort in knowing that you have an angel to watch over you now. Please accept my deepest condolences.  I've known Mr Carter's son Russell for almost 5 years and he truly loves his family.  He loved his Dad, a good man who served his nation and took care of his family. May he rest in peace. God Bless.

We were so saddened to learn that our friend "Buddy" Carter had passed away.  His legacy will live on in his beautiful children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Our children, too, will cherish the "good times," we've shared over the years.  God bless our beloved Anita and all the Carter Family!
