Helena "Ann" Grubbs

Helena “Ann” Grubbs (Ann Gallegos) 86 of Phoenix, Az passed away on De-cember 31, 2019 at Serenity Hospice & Palliative Care in the care of Infinity Hospice Care. Her daughters and family remained bedside.

Born November 25, 1933 in Phoenix, AZ, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. Lutgerding and Minnie “Florence” Lutgerding.

She grew up in Clarkdale, AZ. She belonged to the Rainbow Girls, Glee Club and was a cheerleader. She returned to Phoenix, AZ her junior year of high school and graduated from North High in 1952.

Ann co-managed Karl’s Shoe Store in Flagstaff, AZ with her late ex-husband

Ernest Gallegos. She worked for First Interstate Bank where she was a bank teller, operations officer and operations auditor. She was a member of the Busi-ness Womens Association. She retired from First Interstate Bank in 1994 and moved to Glendale, AZ.

She is preceded in death by her sister Betty Stinson, brothers Robert Lutgerding and Ronald Hoover and daughter Diann Barnes.

She is survied by her brother Donald Hoover (Barbara), three daughters, Kim Cooke, Tina Bierod (Bryan) and Stephanie Nelson. Eight Grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held January 12, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Surprise Funeral Care, 16063 W. Bell Rd., Surprise, AZ 85374.
