Linda Lucille Burns

Linda was born in Cambridge, MA on 11/13/1945 and graduated from Sommerville High School in 1963. She married her high school sweetheart, John, on October 24, 1964. Linda worked for a jewelry wholesaler for several years, a career perfect for showcasing her attention to detail and discerning taste. Linda was kind, generous, stylish, and carried herself beautifully; all qualities that led her to be an active member of the Red Hat Society celebrating friendship, fun, and positive self-expression. Linda was an amazing woman who will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all that had the great pleasure of meeting her.

Linda is predeceased by her parents, Joseph H. Fontes and Yolanda A. (Sabella) Fontes, her brother, Joseph P. Fontes, and her son Gregory John Burns.

Remaining to cherish her memory are Linda’s husband of 60 years, John “Tom” Burns; nephew Joshua Fontes of Mesa, Arizona, his wife Denna, and their two children, Lilliana and Nayeli; niece Jessica (Fontes) Thorp and her husband Larry of Portsmouth, NH; sister-in-law and wife of Joseph P. Fontes, Wanda Tomlinson of Manchester, NH; and, many extended family members and dear friends.

An Open House Celebration of Linda’s life will be held at the home of John and Linda Burns on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
