Linda Lee Wininger, born on August 20, 1947, in Port Huron, Michigan, passed away on February 20, 2026, at the age of 78. She was a gentle, thoughtful, cherished, and kind-hearted woman, who resided in Goodyear, Arizona.
Linda was the daughter of William and Bertha Rock. She attended and graduated from a Port Huron high school in her hometown. At the age of 23, she married John D. Wininger on September 26, 1970, in Port Huron at Trinity Lutheran Church. From their loving union, they gave life to four children: James, Katrina, Roxanna, and Joseph, whom they loved entirely.
In her professional life, Linda worked in the finance industry as a bank representative for Valley National Bank and Bank one. Her Lutheran faith was an integral part of her life, and she served as the Director of Christian education, leading the youth group and educating children with wisdom and the word. Linda loved arts and crafts, from sewing on a patch to creating memorable moments with her grandchildren. She was known for her ability to make a house feel like home with her decorative skills, particularly during holidays like Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving.
Linda took pride in her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother and was affectionately known as 2308 Troops Grandma for the Girl Scouts that she regularly assisted, a tradition that started with her daughters. She will be remembered for cheering, "2308, We're Great, We're Great, We're Great!" As the group passed during a local Christmas parade.
Linda is described as a strong, yet meek woman with charming charisma, and her presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, John D. Wininger. She leaves behind in mourning her four children, James, Katrina, Roxanna, and Joseph, as well as grandchildren Samantha, Sabrina, Jimmy, Kaitlyn, Vivian, Tristan, Mikey, and Casey, Kaylee, Johnny, and Jayden. Along with eleven great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, in addition to friends, and acquaintances, in whom her memory will linger on.
